From the scenic heights of Glassgow fond Cole comes beautiful and intelligent ANNALISA JUDY BENJAMIN. CARNIVAL QUEEN CONTEST 2000 | Annalisa is a 19 year old tarranean who enjoys listening and dancing to Latin music, surfing the web and reading about black heroes. Annalisa graduated from the Convent High School and continued to the Sixth Form College where she pursued Sociology and Economics. She is currently employed at Cable and Wireless Dominica Ltd as an Accounts Payable Clerk. She sees herself as being a very efficient and reliable worker who would like to pursue a double major in the fields of Psychology and Business Administration. Miss Benjamin hopes for a reduction in unemployment as she sees that as being the primary contributing factor to the problems faced by the youth. Annalisa urges Dominicans to learn to be creative, to take initiate, and to embrace all of life's opportunities. |

Born under the zodiac sign of Virgo Marayah, the former miss Teenage Pageant 1996, sees herself as a wonderful and complete individual filled with self-determination. She shares an uncontestable love for her country Dominica and that is why she takes advantage of it's natural beauty spots. Thus her leisure activities include jet skiing, kayaking, swimming and hiking. Marayah stands 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds. She is a graduate of the Grand Bay Secondary School and the Clifton Dupigny Community College. She believes in the impartially of the judicial system. This explains why she will soon be pursuing a law degree as her ultimate aim is to become a magistrate. Vanessa is excited about her participation in this year's National Queen Competition. She welcomes all opportunities to give Dominica the best possible representation, should she win. |
From the hideaway village of Tete Morne, Grandbay, so named by the French because of it majestic location on the mountain top, comes this 20 year old Southern Belle, MARAYAH VANESSA ABRAHAM. 1st place CARNIVAL QUEEN 2000

A 21-year-old beauty with an infectious smile, affectionate and determined nature, comes from the community of Castle Comfort. DARNA CHARLENE ROBERTS 2000 CARNIVAL QUEEN | A graduate of the Convent High School and the Clifton Dupigny Community College. Her goal is to pursue a degree in Architecture, specializing in Industrial Design. Darna loves everything about computers, and were she granted an opportunity to obtain a double major, her second choice would be in the field of computer technology. As the reigning Miss Flower Show and second runner up in the 1996 Miss Wob Dwiet Competition, Darna is no stranger to the stage. However, she sees the Miss Dominica 2000 pageant as a welcome challenge. Miss Roberts sees Carnival as an important showcase for Dominica's culture, and being a contestant for this year's pageant is her contribution to its development. |

This Giraudel beauty stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. Currently, Marlyn is employed at Global International as the Executive Secretary. When she is not occupied with her Secretarial duties, you can catch her either buried in a mind stimulating novel written by one of her two favourite authors - Sidney Sheldon of Stephen King, relaxing on one of our superb beaches or just exploring our natural environment. Miss Nelson is a graduate of the Convent High School and the Technical Studies division of the Clifton Dupigny Community College. There she studied Agriculture because of her love for nature and the outdoors. Her dream, however, is to be an airplane pilot and that she attributes to her knack for living on the edge. |

From the culturally unique community of Paix Bouche comes the beautiful 19-year-old,TAMICA THOMAS CARNIVAL QUEEN CONTEST 2000 | Miss Thomas who stands 5 feet 6 inches tall weighs 123 pounds is currently employed as a Business Teacher at the Dominica Grammar School. She would, however, like to pursue further studies in Accounting and Business Management and hopes to become a certified Accountant as well as an Entrepreneur. In pursuing her goals, Tamica believes that she can aid in fostering better communication links between businesses in the regional and international arena and also within her country. She also foresees herself as being a liaison between the youth and the government. A graduate of the Portsmouth Secondary School and the Sixth form college, Tamica enjoys traveling and shows deep appreciation for our art and culture. She looks forward to her participation in this Pageant with great anticipation and welcomes the opportunity to promote Dominica locally, regionally and internationally, should she win. |

She sees herself as an ambitious individual who hopes to continue her studies in the field of Travel and Tourism. Her dream is to, one day, become a Travel and Tourism Consultant. Standing 5 feet 9 inches and weighing 118 pounds, Miss Blackmoore enjoys modeling, singing and interacting with people of diverse cultures. She is very ecstatic about being a contestant in this year's Carnival Pageant. Any opportunity to represent Dominica regionally and internationally she would warmly embrace. |

Castle ComfortKENDRA NICHOLAS CARNIVAL QUEEN CONTEST 2000 | Twenty-two year old Kenda Nicholas of Castle Comfort insist that firm grounding in her Christian faith, immovable family support and super friends have groomed her into becoming the positive and determined person that she is. As a graduate of the Dominica Grammar School and a former student of the Clifton Dupigny Community College, Kenda believes that she ahs received a good foundation in formal education. This she believes will aid in the realization of her dreams in becoming an International Music Superstar. Miss Nicholas who enjoys cooking, dancing and of course singing, promises her dedication towards the promotion of Dominica for what is truly the Nature Isle Of The Caribbean. |
